Le scoutisme musulman : Histoire et organisation en Algérie et en France
Le mouvement scout au sein de la communauté musulmane possède une histoire riche et diversifiée, s'étendant de l'Afrique du Nord à l'Europe. Algerian Muslim Scouts (SMA; in Arabic: الكشافة الإسلامية الجزائرية, in French: Scouts Musulmans Algériens) is the national Scouting association in Algeria.
Les Scouts Musulmans Algériens (SMA)
L'origine du mouvement remonte au début du XXe siècle. Scouting in Algeria began formatively around 1911, but Scouting was officially founded in French Algeria in 1935, introduced by Algerian Scouter Mohamed Bouras [ fr] with a troop in Algiers called the "al Falah".
Le mouvement s'est rapidement étendu à travers le pays. D'autres sections se sont unies au groupe initial : in Miliana the section "Ibn Khaldoun", and others in Constantine, Mostaganem, Blida, Sétif, Tizi Ouzou, Batna and Guelma. Par la suite, with the proposal of Bouras, the league of the scouts Moslem Algerian was created and obtained the approval of the government of the Popular front in July 1939.
Impact social et symbolique
Encouraged by Oulémas reformists, the movement propagated patriotic ideas, was guided by nationalist chiefs, and carried out many demonstrations. Cet engagement historique a mené à une reconnaissance internationale puisque Algeria became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1963.
Aujourd'hui, l'organisation est un pilier de la société civile : SMA has 77,554 members as of 2021. Les scouts participent à des actions concrètes : Members are actively involved in national construction and community development projects. They have constructed schools, improved roads, planted trees and conducted literacy campaigns.
L'identité des SMA est définie par plusieurs éléments clés :
- The Scout Motto is كن مستعداً ( Kun Mustaʿiddan, transl. Be Prepared) in Arabic, and Sois Prêt in French.
- The Scout emblem incorporates elements and color scheme of the flag of Algeria. It also has the crescent of Islam.
- Le nom d'un scout unique est كشَّاف ( Kaššāf) in Arabic ou Askuti in Berber.
Les Scouts Musulmans de France (SMF)
En France, l'organisation Scouts Musulmans de France ( Muslim Scouts of France, SMF) is a French Muslim Scouting organization for boys and girls between 8 and 21 years old with about 1,000 members.
Fondation et structure internationale
L'association a été créée pour encadrer la jeunesse musulmane en Europe. It was founded in 1990 by Sheikh Khaled Bentounès, the spiritual leader of the Sufi Alawiya Brotherhood, and is headquartered in Noisy-le-Grand.
Sur le plan institutionnel, it is part of the Fédération du Scoutisme Français and through this a member of both the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
Niveaux et progression pédagogique
Les SMF sont organisés en quatre sections distinctes selon l'âge des participants :
- Voyageurs and Voyageuses are between 8 and 12 years old and belong to a Cercle.
- Éclaireurs and Éclaireuses are between 11 and 15 years old and belong to a Troupe.
- Pionniers and Pionnières are between 14 and 18 years old and belong to a Poste.
- Compagnons and Compagnonnes are between 17 and 21 years old and belong to a Relais.
L'emblème des SMF témoigne de leur double allégeance : The badge of the SMF consists of a red fleur de lis for allegiance to the Scout movement, resting on a green trefoil, a sign of belonging to the Guide movement, the 5 pointed star in the centre is for the Muslim belief of the association.
Événements et données comparatives
Le dynamisme du mouvement se manifeste également lors de grands rassemblements internationaux. Par exemple, le Roverway 2018 rassemblera 3 000 éclaireuses, éclaireurs, scouts et guides de toute l’Europe. Cet événement, organisé par l’association Scouting Nederland, aura lieu aux Pays-Bas du 23 juillet au 2 août 2018.
